Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Babz Studios (“Babz Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Bellows, a CRM and marketing-automation platform (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with the Service, consistent with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and substantially similar provincial privacy laws.
1. Two roles we play
We handle personal information in two distinct capacities:
- As an organization — for personal information about our own account holders, prospective customers, and site visitors (for example, the name and email of a person who signs up). We determine the purposes for this information and are accountable for it under this Policy.
- As a service provider— for the contact records and other personal information that a customer (a “tenant”) uploads or generates through the Service about theircustomers (“Customer Data”). We process Customer Data on the tenant’s behalf and on their instructions. The tenant is the organization accountable for that information; please contact the relevant tenant for requests about it.
2. Personal information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, business details, and credentials used to create and secure an account.
- Usage and device information — log data, IP address, and similar technical information generated when you use the Service, used to operate, secure, and improve it.
- Customer Data — contact records, communications, appointments, and notes that tenants choose to store in the Service about their own customers.
- Communications — messages you send to us for support or inquiries.
3. Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate users and prevent fraud and abuse;
- Process Customer Data to deliver the features a tenant has configured;
- Communicate with account holders about the Service; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Consent
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with consent, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. The form of consent may vary depending on the sensitivity of the information. Where we act as a service provider, tenants are responsible for obtaining any consent required from the individuals whose Customer Data they process through the Service. You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us — note that withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide the Service.
5. Commercial electronic messages (CASL)
The Service enables tenants to send commercial electronic messages (such as email and SMS). Tenants are responsible for ensuring they have the consent required under CASL, for identifying themselves as the sender, and for honouring unsubscribe requests. The Service provides unsubscribe and do-not-contact controls. We will only send you our own commercial messages where permitted, and every such message includes a way to opt out.
6. Disclosure and service providers
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the Service and as permitted by law — for example, with service providers who host infrastructure, deliver email and SMS, or provide AI processing, each under obligations to protect the information and use it only to provide their services to us. Key categories of service providers include cloud/backend hosting, email delivery, SMS/voice messaging, AI model providers, and advertising platforms that a tenant connects. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
7. Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside of Canada, including in the United States. As a result, that information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection for information handled on our behalf.
8. Safeguards
We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption of sensitive credentials at rest, access controls, and tenant isolation. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
9. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, to provide the Service, and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Customer Data is retained according to the tenant’s configuration and instructions, and is deleted or returned as agreed when an account ends.
10. Your rights: access and correction
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information. If your request concerns Customer Data held on a tenant’s behalf, we will refer you to the relevant tenant, who is accountable for that information. We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframes required by law.
11. Accountability and contact
Babz Studios is accountable for personal information under its control. If you have a question, request, or complaint about how we handle personal information, please contact our privacy contact at info.babzstudios@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means.
